What do you like most about being a business owner? The ability to be creative and think outside the box in all aspects of the business. There are no limitations set on me like there were in other careers.
What do you like least about being a business owner? Income fluctuates, but there is nothing better than being an entrepreneur.
What do you like most about having a home office? No commute and nobody coming in my office asking for something all day.
What do you like least about having a home office? Just because I work from home people assume I have all kinds of free time.
What is your biggest business mistake? During my first experience an entrepreneur, I didn't spend my advertising/marketing dollars wisely. I learned not to make hasty decisions on where to spend my money. I also learned not to try to be all things to all people.
Advice to anyone considering starting a home-based business: An office or area in the home that is just for YOUR work is essential. Have a written plan for each day of the week to prevent distraction and accomplish more.
What do you like most about being a COSE member? The networking opportunities allow me to build referral business (the best kind of business) and also allow me to meet and learn from other business owners.
Have you been active with COSE? I try to attend at least one networking and one educational event each month. I am a COSE Ambassador.
What two or three personal characteristics are most critical to your success: Being a good listener. Being persistent. Writing things down, I have a good memory but it's short.
Advice that you try to live by: Treat others like I would want to be treated. Have a plan, and don't listen to negative people.
What is one thing that is on your “to-do” list that you would really like to check off? To develop a charity event that raises a lot of money for Providence House.
If there was one more hour in the day you would: Thank God.
If you could interview one living person, who would it be: Warren Buffett
If you could have met just one person before they died, who would it have been: Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter. That way I'd be in Australia and kill two birds with one stone.
Place you wish to visit most: Australia
Most influential person in your life: Dad
What is your biggest achievement: Being a dad.
What is your grandest wish? To build a legacy for my daughters.
What you can't live without: Family
